Now I’ve seen a number of people talking about PassPack. It’s, well, an online password management system. You can store all your passwords here s othat in the rare event that you forget them, you’ll have something to fall back on.
Now, not trying to be difficult, but I just don’t feel comfortable with the whole idea. I’ll give a try anyways and I’ll keep you guys posted But my real use for it would be for those User IDs that some sites think they need to give you: long and numerical. Can’t I just pick a username like I do on thousands of other sites? Oh well. My web host seems to find it funny to dynamically generate my FTP login. I wonder if that’s because I have the cheapest plan possible?

I’m a partner over at PassPack, and I also manage the blog - Thanks for giving us a chance. I know trust is a major issue, and it’s good that your skeptical.
I don’t know if you’ve seen these two posts, maybe they might help explain some basic facts about how PassPack works. We can’t actually read your passwords because they are encrypted in your browser before ever getting sent to our server. PassPack, in that sense, works more like a mere storage spot.
Here’s a link that explains how that works:

And here’s a link that covers basic password info:

Thanks again, and please let me know your thoughts on PassPack - we are forever looking for ways to improve the service.
Cheers,
Tara
