Super Huge RSS Button - Chicklets, A Thing Of The Past

I’ve decided to take a different route with respect to the way I publicize my RSS feeds. Before, I had a chicklet on the side, with tons of options for readers. This had its purpose, but I think that it’s time for a change.

Why You Ask?

I’ve been to certain sites and I never use the chicklets. My preference is Google Reader, but I don’t usually click the Google Reader chicklet. This is because I have my browser (Firefox) configured to add any RSS link to Google Reader.

You can also configure Internet Explorer 7 to do the same thing, so one needs to ask, what’s the purpose of the chicklet?

The chicklet also posed the problem of having too many links that many users don’t use. At least that’s my thought.

Tell Me What You Think

As usual, I’d love to know what you guys think:

Bank Of America Bill Pay - Set It And Forget It? Maybe Not

Now I’ve been reading tons of stuff about other people’s experiences with the BoA, but I personally haven’t hadn’t had any problems with them. Up until last week, they’d been my best credit card account. They are my lowest APR that I have on any card, with a relatively high limit, so everything has been great actually. They also have a pretty good Bill Pay program; and therein lies the problem.

The BoA Strikes

Right now my BoA account has a very nice equilibrium going. It’s like a well-balanced ecosystem, where any outside stimuli is gonna cause things to spiral out of control. I have all my outgoing bills set up through the eBill Bill Pay system, including my car payment and internet payment. Because I know the exact amount of every bill, I’ve set up the amount of the incoming payment to the credit card to be the exact amount I need, so the account always goes back to zero (0) by the time the account is due.

To Taser or Not to Taser - That Is The Question

TaserIntroduction

I know you’ve heard about all the recent taser related events in the news. The woman in Ohio is now suffering vision problems due to the cops putting the taser down on her. Then of course, there’s the student at University of Florida during the John Kerry speech. Now everyone is up in arms. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not exactly advocating what was done in these specific situations; the video with the woman looks kinda harsh, but we have to consider a few things.

Being A Cop Ain’t Easy, But Somebody’s Got To Do It

Cops deal with all sorts of stuff everyday. People carry guns all over the place. You get the blame if a crime is committed and not stopped, you get the blame if yo u use too much force to stop a crime from being committed. The only time you get praise is if you get a nice friendly criminal that says “OK officer, I surrender”; and when does that really happen?

In general, cops get a bad rap. What do most of us knows cops for? Giving tickets, putting folks in jail, etc. Only a small percentage of people that have personal positive experiences with the police have good things to say; people who are saved from getting robbed and pulled from fires, etc.

What’s Been Going On?

Missing In Action

I’ve been MIA and this is why:

  • The Moving Fiasco has finally come to an end:
Lava has finally been able to cram all her stuff into a relatively livable two (2) bedroom apartment. There have been about six (6) entire weekends dedicated to packing, cleaning, loading trucks, driving trucks, etc.
  • Work has been murder:
There’s just been too much stuff to do and not enough time. I think I need a vacation, seriously. This is getting ridiculous now. The funny things is that for the past month, I’ve only been working on projects and none of the normal day to day tasks that we usually do. Funny thing is, these day to day tasks don’t get any less important. Now they’ve piled up and are all due by October 15th. Can you say overtime? There have been a couple weekends there I put in a few extra hours just to meet deadlines with projects. Let’s just say it’s not going to be a fun week.
  • Revamped my Web Development blog. It was about time. I’ve also decided to put a lil’ bit more effort into it, since it’s proceeds are what pay for my hosting. But, because of the above, that has been a slight problem.

Poll - Is The World Tired of Movie Parodies?

Today I looked at Epic Movie on DVD and it got me thinking: Is the world fed up of movie parodies?

The first was I remember is by the Wayan’s brothers:

Don’t be a menace to society while drinking your juice in the hood

I must say, it was funny for it’s time. Hilarious, actually. Then there was Scary Movie; another winner in my book. There was Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth; that tried to copy the formula word for word and wasn’t too successful.

Then Scary Movie 2; OK I guess it was still kinda funny. But then Scary Movie 3, then 4 and there is a confirmation for Scary Movie 5. Don’t forget that others decided to join the trend while it was in it’s downward spiral (in my opinion):

  • Not Another Teen Movie
  • Date Movie
  • Date Movie 2 (Yes They Did - Coming out 2009)
  • Epic Movie
