The Rent.com reward is the way to go, especially at the apartment complex I moved into. Amazingly my landlord actually called to remind me not to forget to fill out the reward form, since I used Rent.com to find them. He also gave me the option to wait for the $100 visa gift card or take $100 cash on move in date. Of course I took the cash since waiting on a reward card can lead a plethora of issues.

So if your management is willing to do the cash option I would stick with Rent.Com

Uhmm... really i'm sure Fed-Ex would love a central spot to drop off for the entire complex, But really, Did the managment office agree to be your receiver? depending on your complex and the people living there, fedex could have a full truckload for your complex. The office is supposed to take all that, and when you come in for your "flashdrive" they are supposed to rummage threw it all to find it?

seems a bit far fetched...

btw... I run a courier service...

you spend less if you pay cash. playing with all those credit cards is going to bite you one day. you can build your credit score, just by paying your rent on time for two years. also a credit scores just says that you are willing to go into debt to go into debt.
cash is king.

I have a comment regarding the similar rewards program offered by ApartmentSearch by CORT. If you're planning on claiming the $200 reward that they advertise, DON'T!

It is a scam! I have reported my lease and they have yet to mail me the reward or even contact me.

If you're looking for a reward, better to report Rent.com(?) as your referral site and claim their $100 reward. After an online search, it seems like people were able to get the $100 from Rent.com, though after a little bit of trouble.

However, there has been NO ONE who has reported getting the $200 reward from ApartmentSearch by CORT successfully, including myself!

I am trying to find a contact phone number for their customer service, but cannot find one listed anywhere online. (I wonder why! It's a scam!) If you find it, please post it here, so that I can call them.

I used ApartmentSearch.com and I'm still waiting on my $100 I was promised. My lease was for 16 mths and it's going to end soon... It's been 14 months and I'm still waiting. ApartmentSearch.com is a scam, they just keep giving excuses, hoping you'd forget.

Watch an honest review of 1and1.com. They destroyed my company in just under a month and laughed about it. I cannot believe how many websites there are so opposed to 1and1.

I suppose to receive my $100.00 gift card. My lease have been confirmed and they state they sent card 3 times, I've not received any of them. I even gave a different address to mail it and, again I did not receive the card. I wonder if it's a scam. I not the one to scam though.

I was just doing some online research on the rent.com rewards card after receiving one today. I think it's somewhat of a scam. Maybe not entirely a scam, but enough of one that I do not think I will activate my card. Looking a the fine print cardholder agreement, I see there are 11 different type of fees which include:

1. Card activation fee-so I have to pay just to use it.
2. Monthly Maintenence Fee-It expires in November, so this fee x 4.
3. Transaction Fee-charged for every time I use it.
4. Cash advance fee
5. Customer service fee-Have to pay just to talk to someone.
6. Online access fee-Come on! Providing online access cost THEM nothing!
7. Lost or stolen card fees
8. Administration fee to close card and transfer-COME ON!.
9. Overdraft fee-So if you charge $90 and have $20 in fees, you're screwed.
10. Returned Item Fee-So if you overdraw your card and give them an NSf check or charge to pay for it you get an extra fee.
11. Card on file fee-COME ON!

I guess I could use $50 of the card and save the other $50 for fees, but I can't be sure I won't be obligated beyond the expiration date on the card. Forget it.

myCityApartment.com is available in Boston only for now, but offers up to $500 on even more apartments and they actually provide you with full service. By full service I mean they show you all of the apartments that you want to see, make all of the appointments (save you time), and negotiate on your behalf.
