ThanX guys. (Damn Jag - idiot is kinda strong, but hey).

I've spoken to a few other people about this over the past day. The general consensuses is that, it was behind me so I'm not to blame. The other thing I feel guilty about is not calling 9-11. But the reason for that is because I guess I was still in shock. The thought only occurred to me about 5 minutes later, at which point I had no idea where exactly the accident had taken place.

But I do remember someone else stopping, as I was looking in my rear view. So I hope he/she got some help.

Without question it was NOT your fault. He broke the most important rule of driving. CONTROL YOUR VEHICLE. He lost control of his vehicle because he was not driving so that he could see far enough ahead to know what he was going to hit. It's plain and simple. He drove like an idiot. He crashed like an idiot. As far as I'm concerned, he's an idiot.

Should you have stopped? I'm going to go with HELL NO. I wouldn't have even looked in the rearview mirror.

Without a doubt, it wasn't your fault. There's no reason you should be rationalizing it as your fault. You were an alert driver and the other guy wasn't. There's a reason they recommend riding 2-3 car lengths back at those speeds.
